Rishikesh sits where the Ganges leaves the Himalaya: a river town known for yoga, temples and the evening Ganga aarti, when lamps are floated on the water at dusk.
Weddings here are calm and spiritual, and very photogenic. Resorts upstream along the river host ceremonies on lawns above the water, and guests stay on for yoga, rafting and walks in the hills.
