Sangeet (Hindi)
Sangeet
The night before the wedding: music, choreographed dances and both families on the floor.
Updated Kalyan Co Planning TeamReviewed by Mefas Fransis

A sangeet is the music and dance night before an Indian wedding, when both families perform prepared dances and then everyone takes to the floor. It is the best way for two families from different countries to become one. We plan the stage, sound, choreographers and the running order.
Choreographers teach each side a routine in a session or two; the night alternates performances with open dancing. It is loud, funny and the moment guests from abroad stop feeling like guests.

Questions couples ask
Do guests have to dance at a sangeet?
Nobody has to, but most do. Choreographers can teach a simple group routine in an hour.
